The Airtime
Television News video archive is a rapidly-growing collection of footage shot mainly at
Heathrow Airport by the agency's cameras since 1991.
It is catalogued into different subject-related
sections and is easily searched by makers of news programmes,
television documentaries and corporate videos.
The library has two main thrusts - general airport footage
and shots of famous people passing through the airport.
The airport footage is classic documentary and corporate
video material. Aircraft take-offs, technical footage, baggage
reclaim, passenger movements. It is there in abundance and
constantly updated - the day to day footage that can end
up in innumerable productions.
The personality sections are very different. They are human,
newsy and often quite unique. Shots of celebrities in travelling
mode, sometimes with their families and a lifetime away
from the public relations creations that are so difficult
to avoid.
Whether it's Posh and Beckham back from their honeymoon,
Tom Jones with his wife, Diana Ross confronting the authorities
- they make riveting viewing.
Material is shot in Betacam SP, DVCpro
or DVCAM and is supplied, normally first generation, on
Betacam SP tapes. Time-coded VHS viewing tapes are available
for a small production fee. |
