A video portrait of a royal day out.
One of the most heartwarming videos on Diana, Princess of Wales, and the British
royal family ever produced.
On a bright spring morning, at the height of her marital
problems, Princess Diana took her two sons on a day trip to a popular
theme park near London.
They spent most of the day going around the park behaving
just like any other family. They mingled with the crowds, enjoyed
the rides, got drenched and played jokes on each other.
It was a totally relaxed occasion and a rare opportunity
for the two princes, William and Harry, to spend time with ordinary
people away from the strict confines of palace life.
An invited film crew followed them around much of
the visit to Thorpe Park and produced some of the most endearing
and heart-warming images of the British royal family at play.
The story of that magical day has now been crafted
into a home video totally unlike any other. Set in the context of
Diana's tragic early death it is a wonderful keepsake of one of
the world's most beloved royal figures.
We join the family on ride after ride, watch a boat
race between the boys, see Diana's uniquely warm relationship with
ordinary passers-by and get a rare glimpse of the early years of
Prince William, the boy destined to be King.
